Hi I'm making a suit of armor
 
Hey I'm making armor out of steel 20 and 22 gage and first I'm making the helm but I'm a beginner so I need help/advise if you got any please help.:)

Welcome to the forum Alden.

Contrary to what one would think; forming thinner materials will be more frustrating than using something a bit heavier. Especially on armor where you will need to maintain shapes and relationships between jointed and moving parts.

I'd suggest 18 gauge which is readily available.

A very good Armourer here in the UK is Robert Stokewood he is also a film maker he has lots of how to videos on YouTube. I have communicated with him quite a bit, he seems a nice guy and very skilled.

I haven't made it yet I'm still going on a metal hunt I got enough and I'm going to start pry tomorrow

Thank you all I saw all the sights they all were very good I'm first going to make the helm then the chest plate then leg stuff ect. I currently have no pictures but will start tomorrow. Thank you all.
