37 Ford - one off
Hi,
I am hand building a scale 37 Ford body over a Locost / Haynes Roadster style chassis. In case you not familiar with them they are a Lotus Super 7 type chassis. The chassis is already 95% done - 3.5 V8 and cosworth 4x4 running gear. It has In-board cantilever suspension and most bits are custom made. I've just started building the buck for the body. The buck might end up as the buck for a steel framed buck - who knows http://www.super7thheaven.co.uk/imag...et-sides-2.jpg The steel body will be formed on a home-made English wheel. |
very cool, will follow with interest as i'm a bit of a fan of the 37 ford woody and luckily i had the chance to do a little work on a genuine rhd woody that was imported new from the states and built on a rhd chassis back in 1938. hence where my scale model 37 woody got its inspiration.
how long have you been at it so far? oh and err hello... |
Hi Mark,
Welcome to the forum, looks like a challenging project. With regard to the chassis, did you have to beef it up to allow for a steel body, I'd have thought it would be about twice the weight of a locost body? I had a look at your website, what software do you use? |
Hi Mark welcome!

Hi & welcome Mark!
Interesting projects - I've often wondered why we don't see more alternative bodies based on the Locost frame concept... |
Hello Mark and welcome to allmetalshaping.
