I worked in a wood pattern shop in the 60,s and they use bono mix with fiberglass resin + fiberglass hardener. Glue, gap filler and very hard, don't forget the screws.

Aftermarket OEM
I thought I would try to economize on a Mustang project and purchased a set of cheaper doors. Set them back right away, they where about 4 pounds lighter that the better priced ones.

Lead.
Flip it upside down and apply a thin layer of lead. For tinning I use Past Weld also known as Solder Paste. The inside radius can also be struck round.
