Welcome Dan:

I drove a Midget for Johnny Balch in 60 and 61 in Gardena CA. In 1961 they came out with a new rule stating that the drivers head could be no more than 4" above the roll bar. That's why on some of the west coast cars you will see a small second hoop welded to the original bar. So if you get a car in to restore keep that hoop in place. That tells you the car was built before 61 and raced after.

A few years back I built a new nose and tail for a 1985 Steve Stapp midget. The only midget he built for Mason Cook for racing in BCRA. He mainly builds his own sprints and Silver Crown cars. In 98 I pitted with him when he came out for the Copper Classic in AZ.

I have no pictures of the car because it was just another job at that time. Please post some progress picks of your build. There is much interest on this site.
