Welcome to AllMetalShaping. Have fun with your projects. Don't let it become "work". If you get frustrated, do something else for a while and come back to it.
I have found that if I tackle the worst part of the job first, I don't have the dread of that slowing down my progress.
I saw that with a friend who had some issues with the doors fittting on a Alfa 2600 that he was restoring. He was spending time tinkering around with things that didn't matter trying to avoid the bad area. He did that for years until I advised him to bite the bullet and tackle the job he was trying to avoid.
Once he got that part out of the way, the rest of the restoration went quickly and he finished a really nice car.
