Im an Aussie but I dont say G'day
Hello all, Im a Car nut from Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. I like to do as much as I can myself and decided it was time to learn more shaping skills and as there isnt anyone in the local area who does this type of work (at least that I know) so Im here to learn from the talents around the world.
Ive decided that I might as well jump in both feet so Im going to build a Willys coupe from sheet steel, my starting point is a rusty cowl borrowed from a mate and a pair of chassis rails. For the first build I have glass fenders, doors, trunk lid and hood. these will possible be built later from steel but of course being a Willys and me being a hotrodder it will be a Street driven Gasser so Glass fits he theme.
Anyway Gear Ive goot to get me going includes
English Wheel (Cheepo eBay job to get me started)
Planishng Hammer (as above)
Kleen 6 ft Brake Press
Louvre press (Williams Low Buck Tools)
Bead roller (as Above)
Shrinker (as Above)
Stretcher (as above)
new snips and battery powered shears
so all in all now a bad sart but need som dolly's and a shot bag to really step things up
Sorry for the long intro but I dont post ofter so thought Id put it all down now.
For the Car nuts out there I have several projects including
70 Dodge Challenger (604ci aluminum Hemi)
49 Mercury 5" roof chop
46 Ford sedan transformed into a pick-up begun
41 Willys
1928 Ford Roadster (Keith Weesner and roth inspired '60's Show rod)
1923 T-bucket
