This site seems to have lots of information available. My interests include rebuilding aircraft (especially Mooney). A 1951 Buick convertable that will eventually be a driver, not a total rehab job, just fun. I enjoy learning skills that are new to me. The latest is TIG welding aluminum . Have any of you constructed a drop hammer? I think the trade name is Chambersburg Clecostamp or Rope hammer. The projected use would to make aircraft bubble fairings approximately 18" x 12" x 2"from 2024-0 aluminum or7075 then heat treat. I was thinking Durhams rock hard putty (plaster) might work for dies for a run of 4 or less pieces. Any thoughts? My e-mail is:
