Default Hello from Massachusetts

I am a major gearhead and have restored many a car. From race cars, muscle cars, to full customs I've done most of the work myself. The one thing I have shied away from is metalwork until my last restoration on a 1967 GTO. On the GTO, the only metal work was replacing the front half of the floor; nobig deal but enough to get me interested in metal working.

I am now about to start building a 36 Ford 5-window coupe. While the body is excellent I have plans for several subtle changes that will get me more involved in metal work. For one I am converting it from a rumble seat configuration to a trunk. I had a great metal worker make the bottom drip edges for the trunk that I have to do the final fit and welding on. There several other small metal working tasks that I will do my self like recessing the firewall, filling the roof with metal instead of canvas, making motor mounts, and several other smaller types of metal working projects.

I am far from an expert but still like to do the work of an expert. I am sure that the folks on this forum will be able to answer my questions and help guide me in the right path. I am eager to learn so that I can do it right.

Regards to all,

Joe German
