I opened up one of the wiper shaft openings thinking I would have to use a modern stye, before I found some original transmissions. I found repro grommets in Australia so I needed to resize the hole.
I sanded a piece of graphite block to fit through the double inner panel and match the convex shape of the cowl with a dimple to locate the grasshopper nib. Then I welded it up, filed it back , and re bored the opening with a step bit.
