Default Hello from Birmingham, UK

Hi, My name's Jon Chatham. I'm from Birmingham, UK. I've got a pretty varied background in engineering, ranging from cnc machining centre programming & cad/cam to a bit of blacksmithing, with a lot of the traditional machining stuff in between. The one thing I've never really had a go at is sheet metal forming (other than some seriously industrial press forming, but that was work rather than fun). I suffered a pretty nasty injury a few years ago which means I can't get my leg over a 'normal' motorbike seat anymore, so I've decided to have a go at building a hardtail bobber with a low enough seat for me to be able to lift my leg over. I'm planning to set up a small fabrication workshop & want to learn some sheet metalworking techniques primarily for building/modifying tanks & fenders/mudgards.

It's a good site Jere, you did a beautiful job on that Frogeye. My friends dad used to have one back in the 70's so that brought back a few memories
