Relevant things: I race a vintage car called Peyote, a 1959 TR3 drivetrain and frame with a home built body on it that was made from surplus road sign aluminum in 1959. I also have It has no compound curves, but it looks, well, not as ugly as it sounds, and it's got a lot of mojo.
I built a trailer for it to travel around the country and race at a lot of the classic race tracks. Started with a 33' 1987 Airstream, gutted it, and built a lightweight interior that's half garage and half living space. Part of my interest in metal shaping stems from building this thing. I'm now in the process of upgrading the fit and finish of the interior--I was on a deadline when I built it. My shop is good sized, I have welding equipment (gas, mig (steel), mig (aluminum w/ spoolgun) and TIG. My welding skills are so-so but I'm aiming to improve. I have an english wheel, and hand and powered bead roller, shrinker/stretcher, planishing hammer, and all the usual hand tools. I'm a reasonably good riveter. I'm 67, in good health, active in sports (surfing, windsurfing, SUP surfing/racing/downwinding, etc) and married to a great woman who enjoys watching my many interests from a safe distance. I'm also into electronics, I'm working on autonomous drone aricraft, steering and autopilot systems for SUP paddlebaords (yeah, weird, I know) and other whacky stuff. Reasonably good at writing code and doing internet stuff. I have no idea how I found the time to work. I'm retired, but every day is full. |

Did one of those road signs say, "Resume Speed. Thank You.?" I sure liked to see those signs when they were posted in Nevada, long ago.
