Default Hello from Big Island Hawaii

Hello everyone, my name is Allen Bosely, live on Big Island HI.

Just getting going on building a Landcruiser FJ40, stretched 18" with Aqualu aluminum 3/4 tub, axles widened 5" & custom frame jig (jig is a 3 piece set. One for front, one for rear & 14' table to assemble frame in) welded in 2x4x¼ tube.
Will be an expedition type vehicle.

Building/modifing some tools.

Building 30 ton hydraulic press, using Swag Off-road HD finger brake & set up. Stand & roller stands for 4x6 horiizontal bandsaw.

Will be getting DHC 2000 Cobra torch (yes I know I know!) Lol JD2 M32 tube bender.

Looking forward to learning from you guys!

Allen,

Welcome to the site. I think you'll find a lot of helpful people here.

It's been a long time since I've been to Hawaii (1980 ...I think.) I'll bet it has changed a lot since then. I stayed at Kailua Kona, but drove down your way one day. Not much development that I recall in Ocean View back then, is it still pretty rural?

Your project sounds interesting, post a few photos, I think people will be interested in seeing it. I know i would!
