Default A newbie from Holland

My name is Willem-Aart, I'm 23 years old and I would like to learn everything about metal since I would like to my work properly on my '60 VW Beetle. I hope this site contains some good information, since I'm an absolute beginner!

Welcome to the site. Here you'll find a wealth of information to help wrap your mind around how metal behaves as well as a great group who have a passion for sharing their knowledge and experiences. Don't be shy to ask questions.

Hi Willem, Welcome to the site. I am sure you will find info here. I owned a '58 beetle many years ago. I liked it a lot but some idiot wrecked it by jumping all over it then smashing the screens when I left it outside my workshop because it broke down and I was waiting for parts. I have a friend who restores and customizes beetles, his name is Simon Emery, he is quite well known here in the UK. Here is a link to his website I think you may find it interesting. http://www.thepaintbox.co.uk/ Simon and I have been friends since our teens. I taught him and his business partner metalshaping techniques many years ago.

David

Thanks guys!

The Paint Box sure sounds familiar! They do some crazy stuff over there, really cool. David, I will have a look at your DVD, sounds very promising.

Let's see if I can find some old school bodywork tools at swap meets.
