Hey guys,
I'm a 35 year old Architect from Ireland, interested in learning metalwork as I have a couple of old cars that need lots of attention - I've been reading the HAMB for a while and have seen this place mentioned a lot as a good source of learning! I'm hoping to do a metal fab course in the next few months and really want to get up to speed on general metalworking processes as I have virtually no experience working with metal (tried a bit of welding, grinding etc but I'm a total amateur! ![]() Hope to get lots of valuable information from all y'all. Thanks in advance, Brian aka BK |

Hello Brian, welcome to the site. My mum was from Donegal. (I am in England) If you want to learn to restore your cars it is best to do some practicing on offcuts of sheet metal. Learn to use hand tools and get a feel of how the metal shapes before you ever touch the cars. Its also important to master welding in the correct way so you don't wreck the panels.
