Default From the Central Coast of California!

I began my career in working with tools when, at age 3, sawed the bottom rungs out of my dad's wooden extension ladder.

At age 5, dad let me do simple things in his home workshop. His tools were few but he had the correct attitude: do it right the first time. The only power tools he owned were a bench grinder and a table saw but this opened up a whole new world for me.

Jump ahead a few years . . . graduated from college with a Master's in education and a lifetime teaching credential. Taught 1 year of High School woodshop and metal shop. Realizing that teaching was not for me, I opened my own welding and machine shop in 1974 and to this day have never looked back.

Although retired now, I still have the shop and 'play' there every day. Just finished building my powered bead roller and am drawing-up plans for my E-wheel.

My ultimate goal is to skin my gyroplane project with aluminum instead of some sort of composite. Time will tell how 'that' goes! <g>

Regards to all,

DON
