Default Looking to learn and from people who know.

Hello,

My name is Daniel. I'm just getting started in working with metal. I have always had an interest in doing so, but the logistics if tooling, space, access to materials can be a real pain in NYC.
Now I'm in a shop in Brooklyn with some guys working on vintage motorcycles.
Now, I am hooked on fabrication and bench top machining.
I picked up some basic metal working tools, beater bag, a couple of mallets and have been trying to make fenders, seat pans, and basically whatever any of the bikes needed. I like the old school tools, but I'm sure after some time I'll get some bigger and better tools.

Looking forward to getting into it.

Welcome Daniel. There is a guy on YouTube who has a series of videos on how he set up a machine and fabrication shop in his Manhattan apartment. His work was first class, though he had to figure out how to keep the noise down and his neighbors off his back. He eventually moved to a suburb.
