Default Intro

Hi All,

I've come to allmetalshaping quite a few times and learned a lot so far; so it's time to sign up!

I've been tig welding for about 5 years now and am begining to get good at it. I've mostly welded mild steel and am just getting into aluminium. I recently bought an English wheel, a deep throat shrinker stretcher, a sand bag and mallet and have quite a few plans in mind, but little in the way of skills.

I'm working on custom motorcycles mainly. I raced a CB750 at Bonneville this year with my first attempt at a dustbin fairing (made from faceted aluminium). The next one will be a combination of facets and smooth curves ... And have a MV Agusta motor in it ... For a little more power!

Cheers

Welcome to the forum Russell,
Tig welding is a great way to weld your parts together, steel is pretty straight forward but aluminium takes a little more practice but tig works well.
Ask questions and you'll get plenty of informative answers and then you'll have to just work out what works best for you. We like to see pictures so make sure you post up some of your projects.
