My name is Dan and I am a second generation carpenter/general contractor from NC. I have worked with wood all my life but was always fascinated by the art of metal shapping but figured it was out of my reach and a lost art of era's gone by....my passion is old cars but became frustrated after restoring a 55 chevy and spending over 10 grand in metal/body work so I thought I would have to give that passion up. But with all the technologies of the internet and some tv shows I have discovered that the art of metal shapping is not a lost art and that quite a lot of people are doing it and have been doing it for a long time. With a background in building things with my hands all my life and blessed with patience and a stickler for detail, I feel I can attempt to learn this art with the right direction on proper tools and techniques. I learned about this site and wanted to join to start my journey. I am a sponge ready to soak up some knowledge and form something out of metal!
