Newbie from IA

My name is Todd and I live in southwest Iowa. I am a retired Navy Chief who was born and raised into the car hobby. I have been interested in metal working since working in a restoration shop in high school. Here to gain as much knowledge as possible to help me with the modifications to my 1948 Ford COE.

In a few weeks Dan Pate is having a large regional gathering at his shop near Dennison, Mn. If you can make it, you'll get a huge headstart on cracking the code on this stuff and meet a bunch of good guys too.....

Welcome!! Todd, Kerry's right. Come up to Dan's meet and you can play with all kinds of cool stuff

. The meets are a great place to get new ideas. The content on the forum is great, but nothing beats working hands on with good people willing to share there knowledge. It's a freindly bunch of guys.

Actually,I was hoping to drive it to Kerrys next year.Thinking of a spring build to go along with the metal meet.I have a 40 and 41 chev COE along with a 37 chev PU cab.Thinking along the lines of an extended cab so you Jessie,Chris and I could fit in it.I have an Isuzu 4 cyl. turbo chassis that had a flatbead on that runs great but had a bad body .I want an old looking truck that I can pick up customers cars with ,being as I mostly work on older classic cars.We can talk more and get a plan together at the meet.Dan

. You sure the 4cyl is going to handle it. I heard about the load you hauled to Kerry's. Is it a GMC? They are a nice truck. They ride good, drive good, have power. Only bad thing I can think of is parts are a little harder to find.
