my name is Jon. I am a novice metal shaper in north east Indiana.
years ago a good friend talked me into taking a Ron Fournier class with him that was amazing for a young guy to experience. I had zero idea about the possibilities of metal shaping. after that we attended a metal meet in Robinson Illinois at Randys shop and a whole new world was shown to me. worked on a plastic batmobile making a pattern and started a panel there. fast forward 15 years of life and raising kids. my friend retired and started a few restorations and expanded his abilities. he unfortunately passed away last summer leaving me with a desire to pick it back up and try harder to accomplish some more projects now that my kids are grown and I am ready to learn some more shaping skills. I finished a resto on a stock body car and I am wanting to expand into something with a bigger challenge and a personal achievement. hope to maybe start by building a smaller scale pedal car size custom and just do it. I hope to learn a lot from the skilled people here. Thank you ahead of time

Hi Jon
Welcome to AMS. I was at Randy’s also, when you mentioned the bat mobile it caught my attention. I remember you working on that. Good to see you are back to working on your metalshaping skill set. Steve
