Default Intro

I enjoy "lurking" and have learned a lot about metal shaping by reading many of the posts. I am currently building a 34 chevy, but I used to build race cars for a living and still love the fabrication part of it all. I always felt I was a pretty fair fabricator, however after purchasing & watching David Gardners DVD I think I have along ways to go
I live in Malta, N.Y. 20 miles north of Albany.

Steve, great introduction and welcome to the site. Thanks for letting us know who you are and what you are working on. Are you going to change the wood or replace it with metal?

Welcome Steve!
I've got a 1933 Chevy 5 window coupe that I've been working off and on for about 15 years. Life and health have got in my way I think I will be starting on it again this winter

Hi Joe,

I guess I'm cheating, I have an Outlaw Fiberglass Body, but did my own hood out of steel along w/the sides, & most all the rest of the fabrication.

Steve, nothing wrong with fiberglass, I was heavy into Corvettes for a while. If you get a chance post a picture of the hood. There is a thread in the louver forum on a mechanical louver press that I build. Copied it from a friend that has a 33 Chevy 5 window that he has owned since the 60's. I offered to buy it from him and let him triple his money. He didn't think $30 was enough.
