Default Hello from the Netherlands!

Hi, My name is Dennis. I'm 24 years old and I'm an engineering student (and will be for a few years more .

Besides that I work at Ikea to pay for my appartement where I live with my girlfriend, and to pay for my hobby and tools.

I like repair old volvo's. My last project was my brother's 244.

Working on it together, we went from this:

to this:

and finally to this:

[small](I didn't smooth out the right side of the weld, I had to little time and the bumper covers that anyway[/small]

As you can see I had to do all of this outside. I do have a garage to work in, but that has been occupied with my other project for 4 years ..

It's my suzuki samurai with a 2.3 volvo turbo engine. I'm slowly getting to finish it, but school goes first.

The things I'm changing on the suzuki are among others:
The engine
Adding an intercooler
Fabricating a new radiator, hood scoop, fuel tank and dashboard.
Changing the front clip so that it hinges in one piece forward (easier on the trail)
And making it all look nice and professional, so it will pass the safety check and be approved to drive on the road. And this is a lot of work because I'm not going to do just the dutch MOT, but the full check to make it really legal.

But why does it take 4 years, I hear you ask..

Well, first of all I'm really busy with school, internships etc.. but besides that I'm really precise and like to change my designs alot, even after I made the parts.

Dennis, welcome to AllMetalShaping and thanks for the great introduction. Looks like you have some pretty good skills from the repairs you have made to the old volvos. Thanks for posting the pictures and joining us.
