Hello from Austin, TX
Hi guys,
Been checking out the forum for a while now. I am a hobbiest metal worker. My first real project that I am working on is to build a scale version of a 32 ford roadster body out of aluminum. Will drop it on a modified golf cart frame to make a fun toy for my kids. I have the buck completed and have been working with hammer and dolly. So far so good, but want to move to an english wheel soon as the smoothing process is painfully slow. Regards, Chad

Welcome to the site Chad!. Sounds like you are learning a lot from this project. Once you can shape panels by hand it becomes slightly more obvious show the wheel works and what can and cant be done on it so I am sure you will have shortened the learning curve by working by hand.

Hi Chad, welcome to the site. Even though using hand tools is slow its the best way to learn. Once you master those skills you can perfect them with the english wheel and other machines.
