A brief introduction. I live in Los Alamos, NM with my wife and two girls. I work at the local gov't lab. Eh, the town is so small that if you live here, you invariably work for the lab.
So, how did I arrive here? I'm currently restoring two 911s from 1968. Both are rusty and in good need of some metal work. I started out by buying some aftermarket replacement body panels currently available. They didn't fit well and needed a good bit of, hmm, motivation with a hammer. I motivated them a bit too much and bent them out of shape. I did some searching online on how to reform them and happened across David Gardiner's DVD. I got it, and have watched it several times. After watching it (and my experience so far with expensive and poorly fitting replacement panels for Porsche), I've decided to form as much as I can by hand. So more searching and found this forum. So, I'm here to learn as much as I can. I can't offer much in return currently but the periodic funny story of what I did wrong. Maybe comic relief is a valuable commodity?

Welcome to the forum Von,
Yes Von, it doesn't take long for entusiasts to realise that after market products are not the way to go. You will be much more satisfied giving it a go yourself, like everything in life, practice, practise & practice some more. There is plenty of help like this forum out there to guide you. When the job is done there will be such great satisfaction! When you have finished the first, each one after that will become easier and you will find yourself becoming more efficent ![]()
