Hi, John from SE Michigan. After lurking around the forum for a while and then attending Andy's get together on the 28'th, meeting a couple people and having fun making a bowl out of a piece of sheet, I decided I should finally join, so maybe I can get some of my questions answered by you guys that know what the heck you are doing. I'm a noob when it comes to shaping. Cutting/machining no problem, but stretching and shrinking are new to me. Currently teaching myself to gas weld and mig. Don't have a tig or any shaping machinery yet, just a couple hammers, and a stump as soon as I cut it down.

Hello John and welcome to allmetalshaping!. You don;t need to invest huge amounts of money in machines to get started, in fact all you need are a few hand tools. Look around and you will find lots of information.
