Default New from the Northwest

Hello I'm from Portland and have been looking to shape up my metalworking game for awhile.

I have a 67 Karmann Ghia I'm looking to turn into a autocross specialty car. Tube frame, a-arm suspension, big electric motor. A fellow donated a very large AC forklift motor that easily capable of roasting the tires on a small car. Its gonna be direct drive and geared through a BMW e30 diff to 75mph or so.

Why am I here? The car is rusty and needs work. My father also has a Model A than he wantes to restore so I figure build skills on my Ghia and the Model A wont be so impossible.

Welcome Marshall. John Kelley is another Karmann Ghia guy and he's up on the NW coast....somewhere.
