I recently found this forum and thought I sign up. I was looking up how to shrink metal for some work I'm doing to my 64 Cadillac and like what I found here. I've read 80 some odd pages of Cadillac roadsters build and I find this very educational.
My caddy has no rust but I've found some body filler on both front fenders and had a bit of damage to the nose of the right front bumper. I've played with cars, boats metal and welders most of my life, with played the key word. I do own some hammers, dollies, shop press, stretcher stinker and a small bender along with a pile of other tools. I also own a full hydraulic sawmill that I've built from scratch and only saw them on the internet before building it. I own a 64 four window sedan deVille Cadillac that's is rust free, a 1977 mercury colony park wanton also mint and rust free and a 65 impala ss convertible that has the body off for a restoration that has stalled until a divorce is over. For now I've got the front of the Cadillac disassembled to straighten the fenders replace a couple bumper parts and reassemble and realign everything that has moved after 53 years.
