Default Hello

Hello! I'm here to learn and develop my very limited welding and metalworking skills. I tend to dabble in many different things, following my every changing interests. In the past (and from time to time), I have enjoyed wood working (from carving signs to building simple furniture), home improvement and renovation projects, car restoration and modification, etc., almost all as a hobby.

I recently got into metal working as a byproduct of an old 4x4 project that I'm working on. I had purchased the truck a few months before COVID, and while there was almost no rust on the body, the floor pans needed replacement. Over a couple weekends last winter, I successfully cut out and replaced the floor pans, learning some basic metal fitting and welding technique along the way.

I have a pretty basic MIG welder, and I recently started getting into making things out of metal. My intent was to develop skills so I could do more advanced welding projects for my 4x4, but I've detoured into making simple sculptures (stick figures, small infinity cubes, boxes, etc.) out of metal. I caught the bug and I want to learn more!

Thank you for having me.
