Default Intro

HI, My name is John, I was referred to this Forum by someone on another automotive forum after several disastrous (but humorous) attempts at spinning sheet brass into a bell for an 18th century clock. I'd love to learn more on sheet metal fabrication in general and metal spinning in particular.I have my own business restoring antique tall case clocks and am a pretty capable machinist, but am sadly lacking experience with sheet metal. I've restored multiple cars (mostly early Mustangs) and done some race car work. Aside from the Clock work, I'm also a career Firefighter in the City of Brotherly Love (22 yrs.) and have a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. ( Spent some time as a ME at Bell Labs before I realized squirting water and breaking stuff was a lot more fun ...) so I may have something to offer as well....

Thank's for giving me the chance to learn from you guys.... John
