Doug from Fort Worth here! Guess it's appropriate to say howdy y'all!

My first car is a '56 Ragtop VW beetle that i purchased as a teen in '86 and still have. Been involved with sheet metal and basic metal fabrication for a bit throughout my career and hobbies. Several years ago I picked up a '69 Convertible Karmann Ghia that I have been converting to AWD. The geometry and driveline are established so it's on to body work. I have owned Subarus for many years so it only seemed natural to save a car from the crusher and give it a modern twist.

Panels are hard to find in good shape, especially fenders. There are no reproduction fenders available for these cars. With the widened stance of the Ghia, I need to fabricate sheet metal for the car and why I am interested in joining this site. Looking forward to learning some techniques and fabricating some tools.
