Hi everyone, My name is Phil from Birmingham, U.K.
I was a carpenter for 30 years, giving it up following an accident that that left me resembling a KitKat(the four fingered variety) My current colleagues at the car factory christened me that, which I find hilarious. Following my accident I started to make models of vehicles from off cuts and cladding them with dis guarded beverage cans. I have res erected the hobby during lock down, and would love to learn how to manipulate the flat sheet material into things like vespa scooter engine panels, step side wheel arches etc. I've experimented with sand bags, male and female molds etc with various results. I use the can bases of various diameters for the wheels, so this is the scale I'm working at. It's like working back to front as you start with the finished surface. I realize this is only playing with the highly skilled profession that you guys achieve, but any advise would be welcome. Regards
