Hello Guys,
Where do I start? I guess first of all i should say that I am a Journeyman Machinist, Certified Welder and Retired USAF. I am TIG certified with mild steel, aluminum, titanium, inconel and stainless. I am Certified using stick in Mild steel, Low hydrogen and stainless. I certified using Oxy-accetelene and am pretty fair at brazing. I will fabricate my own parts rather than buy them if possible. I have built several Street Rods and restored several vintage cars. I am pretty sorry in the area of body work when it comes to using body filler. I can weld, straighten and fabricate parts that i need, I just am not really good with fillers. I prefer to get the metal straight without having to use anything more than a skim coat. It is the skim coat that gives me trouble. I paint my own cars. The owner of the last one quit putting is car in competitions because he had no where to put the trophies. I take pride in my work and I don't cover up anything that I would not be proud to have in plain sight. I am a firm believer that there is only one way to do things and that is the right way. I am Retired military. Starting out in the US Army, out for 23-1/2 years then I went in the US Air Force Reserve and finally retired because I got too old for them. I have had three heart attacks, three open heart surgeries, two strokes, eleven stents and two implanted defibrillators, but so far nothing serious. Lastly, I am a totally disabled service connected Veteran. I am hoping that I can learn a bit from others and possibly spread of my acquired knowledge if I can muster it up. Looking forward to participating with you all. Ed Hurst
