Default Yet another (expat) Kiwi

Hi Guys, another Kiwi joining the fold, but I actually live in the US and have for the last 17 years.

I'm a motor mechanic by trade, and until 2 years ago spent my time travelling all over working on open wheeled racing cars. As i said, the last 17 years in the US and a couple of years before that in Europe.

I've had the privilege of working with a ton of very highly skilled fabricators over the years and have been in awe of some of the work they have produced. The downside to that of course is that I didn't tend to do much fabricating myself, letting the experts do it always yielded a better job!

So now I want to learn more about it. I can weld OK, I can machine most of the bits I want to make, but I have a ton to learn when it comes to forming and shaping pieces of metal.

I have interest in almost anything old, from farm equipment to cars, old tools and machines, even old buildings. I'm looking forward to learning from the experts here!
