I am new to metal shaping. And since I don't do anything half-way, I opted to start a project that I must learn new skills in order to complete it. So I bought a project 1955 F-100 pick-up. I have so far completely boxed the frame and installed front and rear 1986 Corvette suspension, and had the Covette engine rebuilt with a 700R4 transmission. But . . . The bodywork is my greatest challenge. Cab is straight, bed is mostly trash. Some rust. Replacing floor pan, three cab corners, 4" set back firewall, plus all the body work that goes with this. I stretched the wheelbase 6" to move the front wheels forward to where they should be. Front fenders on these trucks always have looked weird. Will also be moving wheel well forward to compensate for longer wheelbase and to make fender look better. This also allows engine to be behind front crossmember helping weight distribution. Always too heavy on front in pickups.

So this is my project and am also thinking about pancaking the hood. Don't know if I want to attempt chopping the top of this first project. Maybe the next truck, as I now have almost enough left over parts to put a second truck together by doing some body work on the parts that I am replacing.
