Default New guy in VA

I am a new guy from Richmond, Va new to metal working but not completely new to mechanical workings. I have had some exposure to mills, lathes, stick welding, and basic power tool/hand tool use.

I have normally owned some old car and currently have a 53 ford f100. I found the site through the H.A.M.B. as I post on there with the same username. I find myself drawn to more car/bike projects.

Just getting started but working hard on learning and understand its a long journey. Just ordered some old snap on body hammers, purchased Key To Metal Bumping book as I was told its crucial, and Automotive Sheet Metal Forming & Fabrication by Matt Joseph. My dad is going to give me his Lincoln weldpak 100 for Christmas so I will be working on welding too. I plan on buying an old truck fender from the junkyard to practice beating on.

Once I get paid I will probably be ordering a 2 1/2 teardrop mallet and beater bag from dagger but not in a rush either.

As of now my plan is learning basic metal fabrication and welding. I hope to build/buy a bead roller and English wheel in the future as my truck could use some floor pan patching. I am limited to a smaller working area so planning space and tools carefully.
