Default Jordy from the Netherlands

Hey guys,

My name is Jordy i'm 28 years old and signed up here to learn some more about metalshaping. I have some objects in need of some TLC to develop my skills on.

The first project is a Honda CB 500 four motorcycle. I want to turn it into a cafe racer/brat style cycle. So a custom petrol tank, seat and custom fenders are the first things I'm going hammer out of a flat sheet of metal...

The other two projects are VW's. One is a 1951 split window beetle and the other is a ' 68. The '68 just needs some minor rust fixing, but the '51 needs a complete rebuild. I want to keep the '51 as original as possible so instead of using thin and wobbly repair panels, i want to make my own panels. (replicating the originals as well as I'm able to)

I don't have a lot of tools. I just recently bought an el-cheapo dent repair toolkit, with some hammers and dollies and I have a nice sheet metal shear. Yesterday I found a leather chair the garbage, took it home and stripped it completely of its skin. So as of saturday I will also have a beater bag to unleash my desire to beat a curve into anything that's flat... (now I only need to find a mallet and a stump)

I'm also planning to buy David Gardiners metalshaping zone DVD as a hands-on introduction into metalshaping with hand tools, and of course I hope to learn a lot from the experts over here!

Cheers! Jordy
