Default Shawn from Ohio

Being firmly planted in the rust belt, I'm no stranger to welding up patch panels on cars but I've mostly stuck to re-pop metal and made things fit as best as I could. After finding a little more garage space to spread out, and meeting a few 'old timers,' I've become fascinated with the art of metalworking and how far one can get with simple hand tools.

That being said, I figured a good place to start would be motorcycles -- gas tanks, fenders, etc. -- and sticking to just hammers/dollies and a beater bag. I'm on the hunt for a solid economical english wheel to add to that list, but for now the wallet says stick to the basics.

Beyond that, I work as a mechanical engineer during the day and have been blessed to work on everything from household products to docking systems for NASA. Hopefully, I will be able contribute at least as much as I take from this forum.

Happy to meet everyone!
