Hello, my names Andy and I'm from Wisconsin. I have an interest in old cars and would like to get more into the metal work. I have a 1949 Dodge Wayfarer that I have been working on, I sectioned the body and chopped the top. Lots of spot welds, hammer and dolly work. Its been a year and I'm still not done. I have a stump and leather bag I made, along with baseball bat mallet. I plan on making a wood slap hammer, along with a metal one after I remove the springs from my car when I install the 4 link. I even had my 12 y/o use the bat and stump and bowling ball and made a 'hubcap', turned out really nice. I would like to make an English wheel and planishing hammer someday too. Looking forward to reading all the threads on here to learn as much as I can.

Andy, welcome, thanks for the introduction. We like pictures, if you get a chance please post some pictures of the Wayfarer. Home made tools reduce the cost of the metal shaping equipment. Hope you enjoy the site. Thanks for joining us.

Welcome Andy!! If you're on the west side of Wisconsin you should come to Dan Pate's gathering this spring. There will be everything from e-wheels to ekolds there for you to play with. Before building them, it really helps to get some time using the machines. Plus Dan always has good food

I have a build thread of my car on the HAMB, but heres a pic, I started sectioning it 2" and chopped the top 3". Not quite good enough to have the welds not be seen, not sure enough to grind flush. Made a shrinking disk for my grinder, sort of worked. Would like to buy one and try it on the car see if I can get them smoother.
