Default Steve Stephenson

Hello Group! My name is Steve Stephenson. I live in Dallas Texas. I work as a electrician in a chemical plant. I am building a biplane of my own design. I have done a little sheet metal work on it so far. For the engine cowl I may need some slight compound curves, and a nose bowl of some sort.

I have always wanted to learn metal forming. I have other projects planned after I finish my plane. More planes! And I think I need a Belly Tanker, but I won't be buying a belly tank, I want to make the body panels myself.
I'll post a link to my airplane project soon.

Looking forwards to learning everything I can about metal shaping.

Steve

Hi Steve,
Nice to see some more aircraft guys. What kind of Biplane are you working on? I work on aircraft for a living. Just finished mods on Rare Bear. Looking forward to seeing you project.

Group, thanks for such a nice welcome. Much different than other forums I am on. I will try and start a thread on my project soon. I'm on my twelve hour shift portion of the week at work, so my time here is short.

Randy, the F8F Bearcat is my favorite airplane. I couldn't even imagine working on one, but Rare Bear! DANG!

Welcome Steve,

Can't wait to see what you're doing with your project. You may want to stop by at http://www.biplaneforum.com/, there's a great group of helpful people there, much like this forum, and very much focused on biplanes.

My own long-dormant project is an S-1S derived airplane and one goal is to built it with no composite materials. I'll be making wheel fairings, cowling, etc from aluminum.

Best of luck on your airplane!

Thanks Bill, I am a member of the biplane forum. I'm just to busy to be a active member. The S1 sounds like a great project. My dad used to have one. He also had a S2S, I flew with him a lot. Nothing like inverted spins with a six G pullout! Adrenaline rush from hell!
