Default Yet another Nova Scotian

Hi folks.
I've been an IT instructor at the Nova Scotia Community College since '98.

I've been messing with cars since I was 14 (almost 40 years ago) and used to feed my family for about 10 years that way.

I found that lifting a hard drive is a lot easier on the back than lifting a door off of a dump truck. So, I started working with computers back in '85.

I'm working on a "T" and hope to get good enough to put together an "A" truck eventually.

I doubt if I'll have much to add so I'll probably sit back quietly. Those who know me won't believe that.

Thanks Rick and Joe (I hope I spelled that right).
I'm sure I'll find it helpful here. This forum has lots of information and a good reputation.

I started building a T roadster pickup about 3 years ago from the frame up. No kit or nice new stuff. 2X3X3/16 tubing, a '27 cowl, a '13 rear section from a phaeton, home-fabbed doors and bed.
It isn't pretty (yet) but it should be as safe as a T can be.

IF I ever get the T running I will start on an A truck I have been gathering parts for. Now I'm mainly missing the doors and the back of the cab.
Parts here are scarcer than hen's gold wisdom teeth so I'll have to try to make them, since my budget is $0.00.

I just got the DVD that David Gardiner sells and now I'm hunting around to see about tools I can make to help the work go better. I watch him using that slapper (flipper I believe he calls it) and think.. I gotta make one of them thar thangs.

A couple of years ago I made an e-wheel and planishing hammer out of junk. And I mean junk.
The surprising thing is that they work ok. Not as well as pro-built ones but for about a 100 bucks I'm happy.
They look like junk though so you won't see a picture of them on here.

There. I'll try to keep this as the longest post I make.
Next stop... tool idea hunting.

Hi David. Thanks for the welcome.
Your T is amazing, like all of your work.
Mine won't be so amazing but it's a start.

I've only watched your DVD once so far. A second viewing starts tonight.

I've been working on an '87 Ford Ranger (BAD shape but I got it cheap). I finished the rear section of the frame today. Soon I'll attack the bodywork and try out some of your methods.
