A "carbon black body" is the reference of 100% emmissivity.
If you have an IR thermometer that has an emissivity adjustment, you're in good shape. IIRC, lightly oxidized Alu is about 40%. But one way of checking is to have, say a charcoal briquette lay it next to the Alu, allow time to Temp equalize and shoot both to verify.
