Hello I posted an introduction before but I forgot to put my name and location so here goes
I'm Claire, I live in Australia and I'm quite new to metalworking, though I have done a bit of bronze lost wax casting in the past, which was a lot of fun. It was a really interesting process. I do a lot of woodworking and I'm hoping to learn some metalworking so that I can use both materials. I'm really keen to learn more about metalworking and in particular sheet metal bending and using a brake.

Hi Clare, welcome to the forum. Metal bending is usually referred to as metal fabrication. Metal shaping usually involves forming the metal in 3 dimensions, so the metal has to stretch or shrink or both in some areas, like making a bowl for example. Enjoy your journey.
