Invention is a combination of brains and materials.
The more brains you use, the less materials you need.

Nice project Marcus. Renovation to the original condition would probably be difficult.
Here we also make screws with a groove if they are needed and the right ones are not available anywhere for the picture of the time.
I look forward to your process. I knew you wouldn't let your tools rust...

Definitely more imposing with a couple extra gangsters inside, and safer getaways by not having to hop onto a running board.

Elbow room is just cause to widen. Being a brand loyalist myself, I can hardly deny that "wider is better".

The widening of the other one seems very subtle by comparison due to the overly upright and skinny original 1930s look of this one. Stands out more on this one but done in your build style and for your purpose, I don't think the altered width will be evident to most without another specimen sitting next to it.

Pardon the wisecracks, its how I communicate.

Are you keeping all the hat room or chopping it down until the windows are rifle slots?

I didn't want my brain or body to rust!

Leaving roof height as it is as think it is as appears lowered once widened. I can only just fit in it now!
Only just over half the extra width of the truck, but proportionally it looks more I think.
Windshield width I just measured is 3" narrower than a 32 Ford and the same height.

Your capacity for planning is outstanding, I applaud that.

Makes sense. I wasn't aware of the planned difference and it sounds as though you are on top of it. Enjoy yourselves!

Nice find Marcus.
The ratio between the window height and the door height is more pleasing than the Ruby, which I think calls for me to chop it. I'll be watching your widening with interest.

Glad you like it.
I'm just doing some ground work for now so I can keep an eye out for a possible donor for it. No point buying one only to find it doesn't fit and looks weird once widened to do so.
I had already had a backup plan as found out that the Ford Falcon Barra straight 6 is the same length as what is already in there, so would have been my second choice. The factory turbo version would be a hoot!
https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-adv...-to-know-87806
Would then start with a XR6 Falcon Turbo as the donor.

Lisa is already looking for a name for her car. It already has to be female as it comes with a Goddess Mascot on top of the radiator, https://www.wokr.org/gallery/wil_hc_18.htm and thought a character name that is a bit gangster from the 1930's would suit. Top choice is Elvira from the Scarface movie might suit? Any other suggestions?

I'd think that "Athena" might be appropriate. Bit better than some "gangster" name, but those old Greek gods were pretty gangster, in their own right.
