Glass channels made from 14 ga cold rolled steel. Our brake dies cannot bend such a deep channel so an L and a flat it is.
Correcting the deflection from shrinkage. Some epoxy primer. |

Getting glass into place for the urethane.
What a sticky mess this stuff is. Seem to fit the doors OK. Too bad I couldn't leave them that way. The seam would tear for sure. Mirror stainless with a top hook to keep the glass in place. These will be glued on with urethane as well. Last edited by 123pugsy; 07-14-2022 at 08:49 PM. |

I was assuming the back fenders were as good as the fronts, and you know where that will go. Got em down just so I could take a break from the doors. i thought I would just need to fill the gravel guard holes and that's it.
I stuck it back on the car where I had it set up many years ago for a look. Still looked to be in an OK spot, although, a lot more work to do than anticipated. |

Great progress there mate.
Love the even HAZ on the door skin welds.

Thanks Gents.
Stripped and cleco'ed the DS fender in place. I started by finding the "blend in" point on the fender holding a strip across the gap in several places and marked off a line. Well, it's Friday night and my eWheel is at work. In theory the ewheel is just a smoother way of stretching metal the same as on dolly tapping with a hammer. So, get the piece of metal cut, set my big chunk o steel on the bench and start tapping away..... That was actually quite enjoyable and didn't take long, so how about a piece with a reverse? Piece of cake. I found this so easy to control, I was in heaven. Tack em together and tack to the fender. |

That worked so well that I left the wheel at work a while longer. The challenge was set to see if I could go all the way thru this part of the project without the wheel. I already know if I use the wheel, I will still be applying filler, so, what the heck......

The front of the fenders weld to where I've already welded the quarter skin and the new wheelhouse together. I used 18 ga for the pieces that meet this connection detail.
A few profile gauges and paper pattern were made to cut the next piece. |
