So, the second fender... Was looking even worse, with rust and some dents:

So as usual I took it to bare metal:

I beat it back to shape with Dolly/Hammers and the english wheel, like here:

And for the front part I had a NOS part but decided to keep it for somebody needing a bigger repair, and to use it as a template for my patch panel :

And then adjusting it:

Tacked:

And welded:

Then the light bowl:

And in primer! As with the other one, only let the back bottom to be adjusted/welded when positioned on the car:

Just with some grips for the motivation :

Bests

While I was there playing with the fenders, I adjusted the A-pillar protections mudguards and welded the fixations that were missing:

And then I played with the bottom part of my front mask..
Making the template :

And then in metal:

Starting with the english wheel:

Taking shape :

And then more work :

Adjusting:

Before/after:

And welding :

Bests

So, here are the next steps on the front mask !
The openings around the nostril were not satisfying so I took care of it:

And done:

After that I built the part behind the nostril, mine were too far gone:

Lots of cutting, adjusting, and of course adding the 3 tabs for the nostril fixation (a 60 only feature !):

And ready to be mounted:

Putting back the horns' support:

Welding the pocket behind the nostril:

And after a blasting session..some epoxy primer and we have a saved front mask :

Thanks for following !

Antoine, I've worked on a lot of rusty cars, mainly MOPARs from the 50s and 60s which just dissolved automatically. That said, you've done and are continuing to do a great job.

I'm impressed.
