Hi Pugsy,

It's a bit of a photoshop hack-job, but I took it upon myself to fill in the sides of that hood of yours to give you an early preview. I see that I have lots to learn before I'll be any good at photoshop!

This picture itself looks like it could use a few runs through an english wheel.....

I know you'll make it look much better in metal Pugsy!

Thanks Ken.

It sure will look better filled in.

I think its got too much rake and maybe a little too high. Something's definitely off though.

Its back up on the hoist waiting for the chassis to be done. I'll be able to fit the rad and make up the rad support to hold all this new metal up then.

Thanks again,

I think you've got to blunt out the nose on the hood a bit, it kind of clashes somewhat with the smooth shape of the rest of the front end. Nothing a big hammer can't fix at this stage of the job!

I'm sure when you have the hood completed you will have gone through a few different designs. It will look good no matter what. Just remember not to use any bondo on the final hood.
Thanks for the help with the stump shrinking on the weekend. And thanks again for the trays.

No problem George.

Now just waiting for the new shrinker/stretcher so we can attack those other parts you need......

Hey Ken.
Something needs to be done for sure. I may push it outside later for a better look.
The more I look at the pics, the less I like it.
Good thing its up on the hoist and out of sight.

Pugsy it looks good but, as you said, it can be better. If it were mine, I'd do some photoshopping. Also if you lay in the grill with some tape you can paint or sharpie over the tape to show the grill. That will help in determining what the hood 'needs'.

At the moment it has a bit of a 'shark nose Graham' look. I'm wondering what it would look like with a bit of a pie cut and sloping the nose back instead of forward?

Maybe something like this??:

Might be a good opportunity for a hood sized Burt Buck.. BTW, Shrink Wrap will work for a bulk surface on a Burt Buck. You can actually paint it but probably isn't durable enough to pull a FSP from.

Thanks guys.

That hood looks good from the side.
I may get the chicken wire and Burt buck strips out for the mock up like I did on the nose.
This probably won't be till the spring sometime or perhaps even later.
I will probably do several shapes as the hood is a huge part of the front end.

Drwg in some grills will help in the design process as well for sure.

I gave it a shot to see what it would look like from the front.

Hi Pugsy,

Just wondering what you have in mind for the grille/s on the front. If you can find something similar on a known make and model of car, I might be able to find something online to photoshop in there for reference.

Also, if you could stick one of your head lights in position on the right front corner and take a picture of it, I'll be able to photoshop the lights in there too. You'll need to pay close attention to the angle you take the picture on, so that the angle of the shot is a close match to the last picture you posted. Don't worry about how close you are when you take the picture, as long as the angle is right, I can adjust the scale with my software.

BTW, you don't have to push the car outside or anything, the only data I intend to capture is the headlight itself, so you can probably take the picture where the car sits now and I'll edit out the info I need.

Let me know what you have in mind for the grille too.

Ken
