Thanks Matt, that is the look I'm after at the rear fender. I can go 235/65 or 235/70 and still have wheel well clearance, and believe I will be able to change the rake with the coils in the IRS although it might not be optimum geometry.

After reviewing, I see my tracing wasn't very accurate. That roof! Lack of rocker, etc. But the fender shape is all I was paying attention to. Traced from tablet for a quickie rather than a monitor as I sometimes do and was having trouble with back of roof area. Oh well, you got the picture, literally.

I finished the tunnel and started welding it in.

I scored some Mini Cooper seats and started on mounts for them.

Funny you mention a 65 series, I had always wished for "half sizes" but only found 50, 60, 70 in 15" stuff. But then I went a long time without buying any and saw some 55 tires on a car in the shop. I was used to nothing in between a 255/60 and a 275/60 but these were 275/55 and I wanted some. For where a 275/60 rubs but a 255 looks puny. Big car.

Anyhow, yep. Pugsy was right and you have the right idea. Looks pretty tough. Enjoy your project.

That's what I was thinking. Keeping the "speed" in the rears. Looks like you got the fronts going fast while standing still also.

Excellent Matt. I missed the photo shop mods last night, but see that the front and rear are both modified. That is the look I'm after.

Sounds as though things are as they should be all around. Leastwise, except for me scarfing up a fun part on your toy. That was a fun exercise.

The sketch is just traced from the edited pic, to simplify for the eye. I guess my objective when I do these things is to aid in finding styling hotspots so others can refine their ideas about where work is needed so they can see the dream sooner. The highlights found on this one were:

That back-of-roof angle works, and helps. On rear half of lips.

The subtle identity lump of "wheel gap" (as the kiddos say) that is negative space at about 11 o'clock over the front tire had to go at more like ten over the rear tire with the necessary straight vertical being below it.

Replicating the front fender bottom / rocker shape at rear and keeping the angle of it seemed important.

I speculate that the front half of the rear fender will look the least un-natural this way but the profile view is just that, one view. Up to you to interpret and express in your way. I still think you did real well with taming the cut sedan look. Focusing on key items does the trick, like that door.

I have a light box on the way to play with some of the fender shapes to include the wheel openings and bumper treatment. When I fatten the fenders I may play with shrouding a little more of the tire as long as I have turning clearance at the front. I looking for some treatment besides the pipe rear push bar of the gassers, and for the front small stainless Nerf bars.

I intend to tilt the front to make the engine accessible and that will require some modification at the cowl were the fenders undercut. I have some paper cutouts from that same profile view that locates the hinge point.

We shall see.

I tried out the light box and reduced the wheel opening slightly. It looks like I will need to get softer lead for my pencil.
