Hmmm, maybe. My background is engine development, so designing and making my own engine parts is not too big a problem. Was hoping for 500hp+ with mild manners. A supercharger will do that, if the lower end can take it.

Mike the basic architecture is very good.It was designed to be able to be used as a diesel but it never came to be.It has a forged crank but it is over square in stock form. Robert

Well, I found a nice '86 XJS with a V-12 in it real cheap. My son and I have it running good. Next is a new master cylinder and it is a driver. For the price ($2000), I couldn't pass it up. So now I have one engine option. Still have'nt decided. I know some say the V12 doesn't make enough power, but with turbos it will.

I wonder if Jaguar used the same bore spacing inline 6 as they did V12?

RKO, do you happen to know the aluminum alloy of the AJ head? Do older version 3.8l heads have the same bore spacing etc?

Bad news, my friend, who was to be the lead metal shaper has backed out. This was caused by medical reasons. I hope he can still be a consultant/advisor. Looks like the completion date I was looking for will be extended considerably. The money which would have gone his way will now be used to purchase some equipment. I will attempt the metal work myself starting with pieces less shape and progress to tougher pieces. I am now predicting 2 1/2yrs to completion having adding 6 months.

The amazing buck is completed, used FSP to verify it matches my clay model. Wrapping up the rotisserie now. Update with more pics next week.

If your friend is not well that is bad news. But...
This will give you a chanse to try and do it your self, you will learn a lot. with his advice, and good tradesmen and others shapers in the forum you will be able to finish your project
