41 Chev pickup build
I've owned this 1.5 ton cab and chassis "41 chev for around 11 years. I've been a little reluctant to start it, as it just seemed like a large rust job. Anyway, I've started it.
What I plan on, is to drop the cab onto a half ton chassis, channel the cab 3", roof chop 2", internal hinges and remodel the front sheetmetal. It took me around a week to dismantle the cab, so it could go into the citric bath. (Thanks Marcus) That gave me relatively clean steel to work with. I've started with the floor, which I've made as the original didn't suit my purposes. Attachment 59177 This is 2mm electrogalv, which is folded up to suit the seats. Started on the under floor sub frame

In New Zealand, vehicles have to be certified to go on the road. This pickup will be classed as modified production.
Attachment 59189 Incorporated into the floor, are doubler plates for the seats and seatbelt mounts Attachment 59190 Once I'd welded the floor up, the subframe was then welded to the firewall mount.

I'm certainly not computer literate. Here are the missing photo's. A lot of my other photo's were coming out upside down, so I guess you won't see them

Hi Chris, hope I'm not stating the obvious, but you don't want to be breathing galvanised steel welding fumes.

Hi Chris, I'm no expert, so I have copy and pasted from a welding website.
When welding galvanised steel, a respirator is required so that the zinc oxide fumes from the galvanising are not inhaled. Inhalation of zinc oxide fumes can cause metal fume fever. This acute overexposure to zinc oxide through the respiratory system causes flu like symptoms that can be severe.
