Default Fort Collins Colorado

I'm Rob,

I live in Fort Collins, Colorado.

I am interested in learning more about metal shaping because I have always been fascinated by building/creating things. My father was, and my brother is, a master mechanic but I was always more interested in the shapes than the engines of cars. In my younger days I apprenticed as a carpenter and in a stained glass studio so I figured the next logical step is to try my hand at metal.

My ultimate goal is to be able to build metal replicas of cars I can't afford; and even if I could I wouldn't want to customize to my personal tastes due to rarity. In particular I want to build a 356 speedster outlaw.

I plan on taking some classes in the near future and would appreciate any suggestions.

I'm thinking of just pulling the trigger and buying an English Wheel and start teaching myself how to use it with the help of books and youtube. Is that a crazy idea?

Default In Fort Collins

Hi Rob, there's a few of us here in Fort Collins. I can sort of shape but I'm not very good. Bob Adame always impresses me whenever I visit him. Bob lives just off Overland and I'm sure at any moment he will post a reply.

Default Classes

Rob;
Come to Hastings Nebraska for classes at Custom Rides. PatMan (on this site) is great in teaching.

Pat also is the manufacturer and retail source for Imperial English Wheels. Check him out.
